Updated quarterly
Top 10 U.S. metro markets, ranked 0โ100 on a composite market-strength score (higher = more competitive for buyers)
Ranked by an equal-weighted composite of one-year median sale price change, share of homes sold above asking, days on market, sale-to-list ratio, and share of listings with price drops, using Redfin data compiled by Construction Coverage, among U.S. cities with 350,000+ residents. Last updated August 2026, refreshed quarterly โ hand-curated, not a live feed.
Not sponsored โ these are just two options for opening a brokerage or crypto account. Other brokers (Fidelity, Schwab, E*TRADE) and exchanges (Kraken, Gemini) offer similar services.

UpTicker is a momentum screener focused on low-priced stocks and cryptocurrencies โ specifically, assets trading under $5 that are posting some of the largest short-term price gains. Momentum screening is a common, well-documented approach in trading: rather than predicting which assets will rise, it simply surfaces what is already rising fastest right now, so you can decide for yourself whether it's worth a closer look.
The stock and crypto sections pull live market data from Alpha Vantage, a third-party market data provider. Stock picks refresh roughly every 30 minutes and reflect movers over the past 24 hours; the crypto list is rescanned across the top 500 coins by market cap roughly every 15 minutes. Because free-tier market data has request limits, both sections are cached briefly at the edge, which is why the "last updated" timestamp sometimes lags a few minutes behind the live market.
The Luxury Watches and Luxury Cars panels work differently: there's no free live pricing feed for collectible watches or classic cars the way there is for stocks and crypto, so those picks are hand-curated and periodically updated based on collector reputation, historical resale trends, and auction results, rather than a real-time price feed. We call this out explicitly in each panel so it's never confused with live market data.
Under-$5 stocks and small-cap crypto are a genuinely higher-risk corner of the market โ thinner trading volume tends to mean bigger, faster price swings in both directions. UpTicker exists to make that fast-moving corner of the market easier to scan at a glance, not to tell you what to buy. Nothing here is personalized financial advice, and past momentum is not a guarantee of future performance.
Low share prices attract a lot of retail attention because a small dollar move translates into a large percentage gain. That makes this segment popular to watch, but it also tends to correlate with smaller, less-established companies or coins, lower trading volume, and higher volatility. A low price by itself says nothing about the underlying quality of the business or project.
No. UpTicker surfaces publicly available market data sorted by recent performance. It doesn't know your financial situation, goals, or risk tolerance, so nothing on this site should be treated as a personalized recommendation to buy or sell anything. Always do your own research, and consider talking to a licensed financial advisor before investing.
Stock picks refresh roughly every 30 minutes and crypto picks roughly every 15 minutes, both drawing on the past 24 hours of price action. You can also hit the refresh icon on either panel to manually check for the latest picks.
Collectible watches and classic cars are alternative assets that some investors track alongside traditional markets. Since there's no equivalent of a live stock ticker for these categories, we curate a short list of models with strong collector reputations and historical resale trends instead of pretending to have real-time pricing for them.
